A Recent Research Honda Activa Becomes No.1 Selling Two-Wheeler In India

Almost 15 years ago, Honda instilled freshness into the scooter segment in the country. Over the time, the popularity of the Activa has increased by leaps and bounds. Now, the Honda Activa has become the largest selling two-wheeler in the country. Previously, the Hero Splendor had claimed this spot for the past 17 years. For the first half of 2016, Honda reported that it has sold more than 1.33 million units of the Activa, positioning it over 1 lakh units ahead of its nearest competition. Ever since its launch, the Honda Activa has been selling well consistently. The sales numbers were strong this year as well and saw a sharp spike of more than 1.97 lakh units during the first half of 2016. The Activa now accounts for 15 per cent volume of the entire two-wheeler industry in India.

Another fact is that the sales number of the Activa is more than that of all the 125cc motorcycles put together in India. Speaking about the development, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president - sales & marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., said: Activa today represents the metamorphosis of the society. The superior convenience, unisex appeal coupled with product features (increased mileage, style and technology) has converted millions from pillions to riders.

Honda’s Activa has come to symbolise a remarkable blend of Reliability, Comfort & Convenience, Style and uncompromised performance. We thank our valued customers who have made Activa the most preferred choice of families for commuting in India. That’s what we call Activating the Nation. The company has diversified the Activa brand over time and now the Activa range includes Activa 3G, Activa i and Activa 125.
