U.S Team Placed Third In 2016 FIM Motocross Of Nations

The U.S. team persevered through a tough weekend, but was able to secure a spot on the podium, taking third at the Fédération Internationale de Motocylisme Motocross of Nations in Maggiora, Italy, on Sept. 25. France captured the win, followed by The Netherlands.Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb raced in the MX1 class, taking fourth in Race 1 and 10th and Race 3. Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson raced in the Open class and captured the Race 2 win. Misfortune struck when, immediately after Anderson crossed the finish line, the bike of a lapped rider landed on him. He was taken to the hospital and had to sit out Race 3. AMA Director of Supercross and Pro Racing Relations Kevin Crowther congratulated the team members for their arduous effort.

“Cooper, Alex and Jason fought hard to finish in third,” Crowther said. “With all the adversity that the team faced at the Motocross of Nations this year, we could not be more proud that they made it onto the podium.” Crowther thanked Alpinestars for its support and hospitality at the event, saying the company contributed significantly to the team’s success. Roger DeCoster, AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legend and manager of the Red Bull/KTM AMA Motocross and Supercross Team, also managed the Motocross of Nations team.
